The Holy Spirit Church (Krasnodar) began counting its history for a long time, namely - immediately after the founding of Ekaterinograd.
The first millennium of our era, namely, the year of 891,it is from here that the history of this structure originates. At that time on the Black Sea not far from the Crimean coasts a ship with Greeks on board got into a very strong and terrible storm. All who were at that time on board, began to ask for the help of St. George the Victory. Of course, he heard the prayers of the Greeks and appeared before them on a huge stone, thereby stopping the storm and leading people away from death.

Krasnodar is considered to be his native city. In those days the temple was called Balaklava monastery because of the nearby village. I must say that the place there is very picturesque and has attracted tourists from ancient times. The temple was visited by many people, including the well-known emperor Nicholas I, together with his wife.
In the distant 1793 the Cossacks founded the cityEkaterinodar, which is now called Krasnodar. The northern part was mastered by the monks, where they arranged a chapel with the monastery. And in the future the building will be called the Temple of Christmas. Krasnodar will accept all comers to visit this famous monastery.
Already in the middle of the nineteenth century, theto rebuild. Here they erected a chapel, a prayer house, a house of abbot and two brick buildings, even the farm buildings here had a place to be. The territory of the farmstead was decorated with an orchard.
Already at the end of the nineteenth century, the City Duma of Ekaterinograd was the address of the hegumen Nikandrat, where he asked to help with the construction of the church on the territory of the already existing farmstead.
Money, of course, was not enough for the monastery,so its construction was very much delayed, although it was already approved by the City Duma. Only in 1985, during the summer period, the first stone of the monastery was laid, and the erection of it began.
To our great regret, the name of the architect,which was developed by the project itself, did not survive. But according to some reports, Malgerb took part in the construction, so it is considered that he is the architect who directed the construction.
Completed construction was only in 1903,and on November 30 of the same year the church was consecrated in the name of St. George the Victorious. So the Holy Spirit appeared temple. Krasnodar has become known in the Orthodox world as a city.
They completed the temple in Byzantine style. The structure includes the Central part and two side-chapels. The base is crowned with five domes, the remaining six towers above the aisles, all the domes have the shape of a bulb.
