Differentiation of incomes and its impact on the regional consumer market

Influence of incomes of inhabitants of any country onThe consumer market, as a rule, is caused by a rather large number of factors that do not always find their place in the theoretical descriptions. Here, not only the macroeconomic characteristics of the region, and not even the microeconomic characteristics are important, the factors of socio-historical and psychological properties are also important here. What is the differentiation of the incomes of the population, and how does it affect the consumer market, can be visually examined using the example of the income estimates of the population of the Grodno region of Belarus. This monitoring showed that during 2008-2010 there is a tendency of growth in both the nominal and real value, but at the same time the rate of their growth from year to year is slowing down, per capita income of the population is decreasing. In general, for the period of 2008 - 2010, the nominal incomes of Grodno region residents increased by 2.77 times. And their increase occurred not due to an increase in wages and other payments, but also a decrease in the rate of inflation, in connection, and therefore real incomes increased 1.55 times and income differentiation declined.

Along with the growth in the size of monetary incomes,and the size of the normative consumer baskets. The subsistence minimum (BAP) per capita for the period under review increased by 3.48 times, which exceeded several times the rate of increase in incomes and led to a sharp decrease in the number of people with incomes lower than the infantry fighting vehicle, and, accordingly, in the area income differentiation has decreased.

If in 2008 in the Grodno region beyond the lineof the subsistence minimum was 24.6% of the population, in 2010 this figure was only 6%. In addition, during this period, statistics are recorded increasing the distance between the infantry fighting vehicle and the average disposable income of the population. On the basis of this, it can be argued that in the field of income differentiation is steadily declining, the poverty level is decreasing and the tendencies attesting to the formation of the middle class, which in the social sense, constitute the main segment of the participants of the consumer market, are gaining strength.

Parameters of money income predeterminesthe amount of consumer spending of the population, some of which are directed to purchase goods for personal consumption and payment for services, i.e. represents the value of purchasing funds, which on average for the period 2008-2011 in the Grodno region amounted to about 80% of the monetary income. As part of the latter, the cost of purchasing products in the region was about 40%, which may, albeit indirectly, serve as proof of a fairly high level of household incomes.

And, if this indicator in 2008 was47%, then by 2011 it has decreased to 39.9%. The share of Grodno Oblast population's spending on purchasing products is 2.7% below the national average.

The growth of incomes favorably affected therealized demand, which can be estimated by the indicator of retail turnover. The dynamics of the retail turnover of the Grodno region indicates certain positive changes in the consumer market of the region: in the period 2008-2011 the retail trade turnover increased 1.68 times. Such data indicate that the differentiation of income of the population is a dynamic indicator of the level of real incomes of the population and is manifested through absolute values ​​and the structure of consumption in the market of consumer services and goods. It is also important to establish direct interdependence between income levels, the degree of activity in the consumer market and the social structure of the population of the region.
