A tankman with a hanging hand was crouching past him. The hero presented how he would now be sent to the hospital. Then someone gravely jumped on Senka. It turned out that this was a dead fighter. Because of the dust, nothing was visible. Senka reached for his rifle. He squeezed her between his legs, put his hand on the barrel and fired. Then he saw the blood draining from his fingers and heard the voice of the commander of the platoon. But Senka did not understand anything. He only thought that he would now move away from these explosions and death. And only on the way to the medical battalion Senka came the sense of the words of the commander: "I would shoot it, but I do not care for the patrons."
There are many wounded, Senka noted. Nekrasov (the summary does not include the description of the road) writes how a man in a dressing gown told a young man to go into the tent. On the table lay a groaning fighter without a foot, why the hero was horrified. The doctor, having learned that before him the left-hand man, shamed Senka for cowardice, made an injection and washed the wound. When the medical battalion was transferred to a new location, the young man insisted that Nicholas be placed next to him. He dreamed of accomplishing a feat, receiving a reward and appearing before a sergeant.
It all ended in a moment. The lieutenant entered the tent and read out the list of self-gunners-they were called by the investigator. After the interrogation, Ahrameev offered to run, but Senka felt his face bleed, and refused. He spent the whole day lying under an oak tree, only at night having decided to enter the tent. Nicholas was already asleep, and in the morning the sergeant did not speak to the young man. Day Senka again spent in the street, and in the evening the sergeant was evacuated. The attitude of the wounded to the hero of the story also changed. They eschewed him, although they did not reproach him for anything.
When the front approached the medical unit, everyone easilythe wounded were summoned to service. Among them was Senka. Nekrasov - a brief content of the thoughts and questions of the hero confirms this - conveys the feelings of the young man who was preparing for death. They were sent to the front line, where they distributed rifles and grenades. At the dawn, from the other side of the river, came the roar of tanks. Senka heard two commanders decide what to do. Krutikova, who threw grenades well, killed. His soldiers are few, but there is no hope for the wounded. Senka put the grenades in his pockets, tightened his belt and headed for the commanders.
Soon he watched as the first tank drove intobridge. Two more moved behind him. Senka looked at the clear sky and, one after another, as taught, threw three bundles of grenades. When the flame flared up, the fighter tossed a fourth and rushed back to the house. Hearing a deafening explosion, he looked back. The tank and bridge were no longer there, and huge clouds of smoke disappeared across the sky.
